MJM Woodworks specializes in custom furniture, cabinetry, built-ins, and historic home restoration. With over 45 years of experience as a licensed general contractor, each project is custom designed from the ground up, giving you the freedom to choose the dimensions, configuration, materials, and architectural details that best fit your space.
The best custom woodwork doesn’t simply fill a space. It considers how the room is used, the architecture around it and the details that make a house feel like a home.
Custom furniture projects range from butler’s pantries, custom cabinetry, library-style bookshelves, TV feature walls, home bars, wine closets, fireplace mantels, custom doors, display cases and kitchen islands to one-of-a-kind furniture including dining and kitchen tables, coffee tables, side and end tables, desks, bedroom dresser sets and bathroom vanities. Michael also creates custom mouldings and architectural details, historic home restoration pieces, and modifications to existing cabinetry and furniture when something needs to be resized, reconfigured or adapted to better suit the space.

Meet Michael, owner of MJM woodworks
Michael began woodworking more than 45 years ago when he couldn’t find furniture that fit the needs or dimensions of his own home—so he decided to build it himself. What started as a practical solution grew into decades of custom furniture making and architectural restoration, including work on historic New York City brownstones and New Jersey homes dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Today, Michael brings that experience to every MJM Woodworks project, designing and building custom pieces that feel considered for both the home and the way it’s lived in. As a licensed New Jersey contractor, he works with Monmouth County, NJ clients from initial design through final delivery and installation.
