About MJM Woodworks

Michael Moore, founder of MJM woodworks & licensed general contractor

let's work together

Michael began woodworking more than 45 years ago when he couldn’t find furniture that fit the space or needs of his first home. He started building his own pieces, combining the dimensions, features, and functionality he had been unable to find in stores. As friends and family began asking him to create custom pieces for their homes, those early projects grew into decades of woodworking experience.

Much of Michael’s early work involved restoring New York City brownstones and other homes dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s. Recreating original mantels, cabinetry, mouldings, and other architectural details gave him a strong understanding of traditional construction and proportion, as well as how to introduce modern storage and functionality without compromising the character of an older home.
